AfrikaBurn is a community and RISE is building solidarity through sharing, because that’s what creativity, art and culture are all about – connection.

A practical programme based at Quaggafontein in the Tankwa Karoo desert, that integrates two focal areas: practical skills set to build resilience, and creative dialogues on womxn in society. Co-created by participant facilitators.

How does this thing roll?

The project will be developed from ground up, involving inputs from womxn and gender non-conforming/ non-binary people who are active in the AfrikaBurn network, their professional sectors and own communities, who are renowned for their creative, professional, facilitative, healing, community, activist, organising, leadership work. 

If that sounds like you – please register here to participate – there are full and part sponsorships for facilitators and participants thanks to funding from the Solidarity Fund. 

A series of online meetings will give shape for  programme that gives RISE to content on

  • consent
  • equity
  • diversity
  • wellness


and identifies the appropriate creative processes

RISErs will be invited to connect with each other through social media groups to continue collaboration and peer to peer solidarity for each other’s campaign, projects and communities, building a growing network of resilience across the country.
